FLEXFIND provides a multitude of ways to search for the component you need. You don't need to know the complete partner number, the manufacturer or be familiar with the way the part is described. However, the more information you can give the more precise your search returns will be. Bear in mind that the order the search data is entered into the FLEXFIND search is of no consequence and that the search is not case sensitive.

Searching for Data Segments:

You might be able to recall that the part number contained the letters BY and the number 100. If this is the case you can enter that as a search term but leave a space between the sections of information.

As you can see that information has been picked out in the Part Number, Manufacturer and Description fields within the database.

Filtering by Manufacturer

Let's assume that you know the manufacturer of the component you need. If this is the case then you would enter the manufacturer's name leaving a space after the 100, this is shown below.

We can see that precise results have been returned from the search data we entered into the FLEXFIND engine.

Searching for a Part Number Sequence

If you can remember a complete section or sequence of a part number then you can enter that into the FLEXFIND search, this will return a narrower set of search results. Let's assume that you know that a section of your part number contains 206Y in that order.

That number sequence will be searched for across our database and will be returned no matter whether it exists at the beginning, the end or in the middle of the part number.

Searching For Phrases

You might know that the description for the component you are searching for will contain a phrase like red cap. You can search for this in two ways; firstly by using the methods shown above which return all instances of all components that contain the words red and cap. If you enclose the search words in quotes - "red cap" - then only products that contain that phrase will be returned.

To gain the most from our FLEXFIND engine add as much information into the search field as you can, separating each word with a space. The more information you provide the narrower your search returns will be.
